Advent at Christ Presbyterian Church
The season of Advent is one of waiting, longing, and hoping. We look forward with joy to celebrating “God with us” in that tiny baby born into a world as unsettled then as it is now. We sing and celebrate…and long. We long for our Savior Jesus Christ to come back for us and for the troubles of this world to disappear. When we celebrate this little baby, we look forward to going “home,” when death is conquered and all pain and sorrow is past.
MUSIC FOR THE SEASONNovember 24, 3:30 pm Keesecker, a composer and church musician as well as performer, is known around the country for his sensitive, delightful, and meditative piano arrangements of hymns. At this concert, we’ll be able to sing some of them together, as well as listen to his interpretations. The hymns will be interspersed with poetry by Mary Oliver and Wendell Berry, |

WEARY WORLD REJOICES ADVENT STUDYTBD “The days are coming,” says the Lord, “when I will fulfill the promise…” Join us weekly to study the 4 aspects of the Lord’s promise from Kate Bowler’s The Weary World Rejoices, a promise given to God’s people of old by the prophet Jeremiah and not-yet-but-already fulfilled in Jesus Christ: truth, compassion, restoration, and justice. Join us as we gather weekly for study and conversation on (day/time TBD) in-person or via zoom. |
